Sacred Window Studies Presents: Motherlanded

Meet Julia Gay, actor, dancer, playwright, stand-up comedian and teaching artist. We will be screening her one women show, Motherlanded, to the Sacred Window Studies Community starting Wednesday April 28 through Sunday May 2.

Julia will be going LIVE with our community on Instagram Sunday May 2nd for a Artist Talk Back.

Adopted from China in 1996 and raised by a single mother, Julia Gay grew up shaped by an interconnected web of maternal guidance, love, and loss. Through poetry, memoir, and movement, the performance honors the women in her life, from her adoptive mother and birth mother, to the older woman who owned the Chinese restaurant she frequented as a child. Join Julia as she journeys from China to the US and, at last, rediscovers her motherland.
